Final monthly cash flow

$2,150Net income less recurring spending.

One-time planned costs

Today’s plan versus your proposed plan.

Liquid cash only. A negative balance is an unfunded cash shortfall; the model does not create a loan.

Dashed line: your cash floor of $20,000. Exact monthly values are in the table.

1. Your household today.

Use net pay after taxes and payroll deductions. Other living costs exclude the housing, childcare and debt amounts entered separately.

2. Put your changes on the timeline.

Enter the change from today’s monthly amount. Positive income adds take-home pay; positive costs add spending. A negative cost reduces that category, which cannot fall below zero. Duration 0 keeps the change through the horizon.

Change 1 · Move to a new home

Change 2 · Childcare changes

3. Test some breathing room.

Illustrative shocks to your proposed plan. They do not change your inputs or today’s comparison line.

What the model includes.

Version 1.0. Each month begins with the prior cash balance; assumed cash yield is earned on positive opening cash, then net income, recurring costs and one-time costs are applied. Income and living-cost growth compound monthly from the annual assumptions. Debt payments stay fixed. Event changes grow from their start month except debt payments. Costs are bounded at zero by category; income is bounded at zero.

No home equity, investment portfolio, debt amortization, tax refunds, retirement withdrawals or borrowing is modeled. The cash yield is an assumption before tax, not a forecast. Changes to a mortgage payment are entered as housing changes. Expense growth is a broad budget assumption, including housing, rather than a lender-payment schedule.
